Karen Gerlach, Ph.D., MPH, Co-Director, Clinical and Behavioral Research

Karen Gerlach, Co-Director of Clinical and Behavioral Research, joined Pinney Associates in 2007. Her responsibilities include overseeing planning and implementation of risk management programs for clients, as well as designing and implementing surveillance efforts and product labeling assessments.
Karen’s research covers a wide array of topics including public health, health policy, and risk management. She has authored or co-authored multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals, presented at major national and international meetings, and served as a member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Health Promotion.
Before joining Pinney Associates, Karen was a Senior Program Officer and Team Leader at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in Princeton, New Jersey and an Epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. Karen earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at Indiana University School of Medicine and Master of Public Health in epidemiology and health policy at The Johns Hopkins University.
