Experience

With a record of guiding some of the industry’s most successful OTC switches—including Nicorette and NicoDerm CQ—George has been engaged in switch for over 30 years.

He came to Pinney Associates from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer Healthcare. After beginning his pharmaceutical career “carrying a bag into doctors’ offices,” he rose through sales, sales management, marketing, and marketing management to general management.

At GSK, he assumed global responsibility for Rx-to-OTC switch and was broadly involved in strategic planning. Along the way, he applied his project management skills in directing regulatory, medical, manufacturing, and distribution efforts. Concurrently, he served as President of GSK Consumer Healthcare North America, where he oversaw $2 billion in business.

From 2004-2008, he served on the board and executive committee of the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA). In 2014 CHPA awarded him the Ivan D. Combe Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to the industry, especially his pioneering work in OTC switch and consumer self-care improvement.

At Pinney Associates, George has helped numerous companies overcome a multitude of business challenges and succeed in OTC switch efforts.
