Drawing on her extensive research and leadership experience, Lynne supports our clients in navigating regulatory and policy challenges by applying rigorous behavioral science approaches.

Experience
Lynne joined Pinney Associates in 2025 after training as an experimental psychologist and spending more than 25 years in academia where she coordinated research activity and led courses on addictive behaviors, psychopharmacology and research methods. Most recently she was Professor of Nicotine and Tobacco Studies and research lead for the Division of Psychology in the School of Applied and Health Sciences at London South Bank University (LSBU), London, UK where she also established and coordinated the Nicotine, Tobacco and Vaping Research Group. She joined LSBU in 2016 having previously led the Drugs and Addictive Behaviours Research Group in the Psychology Division at the University of East London.
Lynne is recognized internationally as a leading nicotine and tobacco researcher and has authored or co-authored over 100 articles related to nicotine, harm reduction, and health-related behavior change. Her research on unintended consequences of vaping policy has fed into regulatory consultations and clinical practice helping to shape the UKs approach to advance public health by embracing tobacco harm reduction. She has been Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator for grants totaling more than £3.8 million from grantors including the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), the Medical Research Council, and Cancer Research UK.
