Expertise
Buoyed by her medical training in pediatrics, Sooyong analyses data, conducts literature reviews, and develops manuscripts for peer review. As a scientist, she:
- Authors literature reviews and scientific publications and reports
- Applies advanced statistical methodologies to complex cross-sectional and longitudinal data
- Uses the R and SAS platforms
Experience
Before joining Pinney Associates in 2020, Sooyong worked at Sanford Research as a senior research specialist. Her focus there was vulnerable populations, specifically youth and pregnant women. At Sanford, she also served as a project leader for an independent NIH-funded project. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles on topics such as use of tobacco products and electronic nicotine delivery systems; presented at various national conferences; and served as an ad hoc reviewer for journals that focus on substance use and addiction.
